Behavior difficulties
in post-institutionalized adopted children present a concern
that is second only to general health issues.
Many adoptive parents become overwhelmed with the diversity
and uniqueness of these issues.
Better understanding of the underlining reasons for the
behavioral patterns is the key to developing parental expectations
and effective remedies.
The objective of this
course is to familiarize you with the major patterns and
symptoms of behavior and emotional problems in internationally
adopted children of preschool and school ages and to indicate
possible directions in evaluation and remediation of these
issues.
