Yes and no. In severe cases (with obvious signs of the FAS body/face
features) it is possible to make a diagnosis as early as 12 months
of age. The real problem is that many symptoms of FAS may be found
only later in the child's life. Unfortunately, those symptoms
(e.g. impaired cognitive functioning, attention problems, etc.)
may seriously complicate life of the parents and the child.
